Upcoming events in the 2017/18 Championship
The Summer Jogularity is a perfect beginners event to learn the basics of navigation and competive timing. Taking place on a Sunday afternoon and run at speeds between 15 and 30mph the trick is to arrive on time; for lateness or early arrival you will collect penalties which will decide the winner.
You will be issued with route instructions in a road book complete with marked maps in case you get lost, giving you inter and total mileages, in line with your normal speedometer in your car (no trip meter required) landmark and/or junctions and information, plus the time you should arrive at that point.
The complete route will be timed at average speeds from 15mph to 30 mph. The idea is to encourage Bath and neighbouring club members to use any form of transport to have a go. This is simple straightforward navigation, easy to achieve average speeds with the need to concentrate and follow the correct route.

The walking treasure hunt is a good social event where teams have to follow a route around town (This year Melksham) and answer clues along the way. A good family event and only rarely car related.
This years walking treasure hunt will take place in Melksham on the 30th July with the start being in the Church Street Car Park (SN12 6YE should get you near) between 6:30 PM & 7:00 PM (parking free after 6:00 PM).
f you are joining this event please email Mike Burrows on firstname.lastname@example.org
Try your hand at rally navigating in a friendly (and stationary) environment.
A tabletop takes you through all of the different types of navigation you might see on a clubman rally whilst in the comfort of our club house at the Rose & Crown, Hinton Charterhouse.
Ahead of the tabletop a number of experts will be doing a quick teach-in to help show beginners the basic elements of navigation. This will start at 19:30.
As on 12 cars you can work as a pair to plot the route and Mark will be on hand to offer advice and help to the Novices and Beginners (Sorry Experts but you're on your own).
All you need to bring is a pencil, eraser, a romer, a sense of fun. The club can provide copies of Landranger 172, but if you prefer your own it's been plotted of versions B, C and C1 (it may work on others but I haven't checked yet).
If you interested and would like to come along please book a place with the organiser - Mark Dunkerley on email@example.com
