Rallyday

on Saturday September 24th the club will have a stand at the Rally Car Day at Castle Combe.

Bath Motor Club had a very active part in putting on the 1976 - 1980 - 1983 and 1986 RAC Rallies that started in Bath.

With that in mind the club has assembled a superb show of cars to be exhibited on the Bath Motor Club stand at this event.

We will have on the stand the works Ford Escort MK 11 the Allied Polymer sponsored car driven by Ari Vatenen, Jeremy Brace's Historic Ford Escort MK 11,  Pat Walker's works 1962 Mini Cooper 977 ARX, Pat Walker's World Cup Triumph 2500 PI XJB 304H, Peter Stanley's press Triumph TR7 of the type that ran in the 1976 and 1980 RAC Rallies, Doug Dawe's Austin Allegro of the type that Bath Motor Club used as courtesy cars on the 1976 RAC Rally.

Juha Kankkunen, Harri Toivenen and Louise Aitken-Walker will be in attendance plus lots of other rally personalities.

The show generally attracts something like 10,000 people through the gates and is a superb opportunity for Bath Motor club to demonstrate what we can offer to the local motor sporting community. You can see more detail on the Rallyday website www.rallyday.com

This event will not happen without the help of Bath Motor Club members on the day. We need people to help out on the stand to assist the regular people who do this for all the Bath Motor Club stands at other events. You are promised a superb day out of rally cars on show and on the track.  So if you can help please contact Keith Wilson onkeithwilson860@gmail.com or Jerry Pennell at jerryp52@mail.com.   We look forward to hearing from you.

We also need as much material in the form of Bath RAC Rally memorabilia as we can get to display on the stand. We know that there are several old Bath Motor Club members who were involved in the Bath RAC Rallies, so can we ask you to look in the loft/archives and see if you have something that we can borrow to show on the stand on the day. Please contact me Keith Wilson (email as before) or Dave Whittock on whittock@talktalk.net if you have anything we can use.
