Through the good offices of member Stan Cole we are arranging a visit to TT Workshops in Westbury.
TT Workshops are an award winning Historic and Classic Car Restoration Business that undertake all forms of Classic and Vintage Car Restoration.
They are situated at Engineer Road, West Wiltshire Trading Estate, Westbury, Wiltshire, BA13 4JW.
You can see what they do on their website www.ttworkshops.co.uk
We have arranged the visit to take place on Saturday May 5th 2018 at 10.30 am.
It is not a guided tour but an opportunity to see what they do and look at the various cars under restoration, and awaiting restoration, in the workshop at present.
Stan tells me that it is a fascinating place and, amongst others, currently they have a Jaguar XK 120 from Mexico being worked on requiring a complete ground up restoration (restoration cost >£100k), another (one owner!) Jaguar XK120, a Jaguar V12 E Type (for sale for £285k), an American Chevrolet the size of the QE2, a Formula 5000 racing car which needs a new engine and an enormous Harley Davidson bike. It sounds like a really interesting visit.
The visit will last about one and a half hours and TT Workshops will provide us with some refreshments in the form of tea/ coffee and some bacon rolls. What more could you ask for?
We feel that this is very generous and as there is no other cost, we would like everyone who comes along to consider making a voluntary donation to our club charity, the Great Western Air Ambulance.
We can arrange, after the visit for some lunch at a nearby hostelry, possibly The Barge at Seend, to round off the day if you wish. You will need to let me know about this as this will need to be arranged.
The Barge Inn, Seend Cleeve, Melksham, SN12 6QB. www.bargeinnseend.co.uk
Numbers are limited so all you have to do, is let me, Keith Wilson, know on firstname.lastname@example.org by 1st May if you would like to join us, as TT Workshops need to know who and how many to expect on the day. a
