A message from your new Chairman – A new chapter for Bath Motor Club

My journey in motorsport began when I was just a small child, and over the years, I have been fortunate enough to experience the sport from almost every angle. Today, I remain deeply hands-on—whether it is setting up events, organizing AutoSOLOs, or acting as Safety Officer. I love everything that goes into making our events successful, safe, and competitive.

 

 

The reason I am sharing this background is because we are entering a brand-new chapter for our club. At last night’s AGM, Dave Whittock officially stepped down after an incredible 15 years at the helm. On behalf of the entire membership, I want to extend a massive thank you to Dave for his outstanding dedication and guidance.

 

While he is stepping back as Chairman, I am absolutely delighted to share that Dave isn’t going far—he will be continuing on the committee as our Competition Secretary, meaning the club will still benefit enormously from his wealth of experience.

 

I certainly have some big shoes to fill to keep Dave’s amazing legacy alive, but I am excited to drive the club forward.

 

 

My primary vision as Chairman is to boost our younger membership, ensuring the longevity and vitality of Bath Motor Club for many years to come.

 

I want to create clear pathways and opportunities for the next generation. This means not just welcoming them as competitors, but actively supporting them to progress through marshalling, training as officials, running events, and eventually joining the committee to bring fresh ideas to the table.

 

 

I am incredibly excited about the year ahead, but a club is only as strong as its community. I welcome all feedback, suggestions, and ideas from you—our members. I will personally listen to all input, and any ideas that can help progress the club will be brought forward to our committee meetings for discussion.
