Ireland is a land of poets and legends, of dreamers and rebels…and for four days in May the home of the Shamrock regularity rally for pre-war vintage cars. Organised by Rally the Globe this years event explored the lanes and byways of Cork and the far western peninsula.
Sixty five crews congregated at the start of this challenging event including two members Bath Motor Club, Malcolm Dunderdale and Anita Wickins, visiting Ireland for the first time and set to enjoy a seventh place finish and first in class after long days in their car, a 1936 Ford.
Competition was fierce ranging from Bentleys to Fraser Nash BMWs and Aston Martins to Talbots but as always the scenery, the hospitality of the locals and the camaraderie of rival crews were the highlights.
