They say the sun always shine on the righteous, well it did on Saturday. After weeks of continuous rain, on Saturday the sun came out all day, yes it was very cold but most found that okay to cope with. With some 200 officials and marshals, Bath Motor Club delivered the Festival Targa Rally with 12 tests to 89 starters, who started the first two tests within the confound of Castle Combe Racing Circuit. From here the rally headed south to Halfway Farm near Melksham and then further on to Spiers Piece, a very slippery test on ex-military concrete roads.
Halfway Farm was then visited again before the run up the A350 to Charlton Park. This estate on the outskirts of Malmesbury offers about every surface possible , and it did not fail to impress. The event then headed back to the Combe for a repeat of Test 1 before a 45minute halt for lunch. Results so far was:

A repeat of Test 2 started the afternoon loop at the Combe before heading the Kemble for two tests before attacking Charlton Park for the second time.
The rally then returned to the circuit for both Test 1 and 2 joined together. After going through the last control, all competitors enjoyed there free meal at the end. The event ran to schedule all day with results going final at 18.20, followed by the prize giving .
