Many thanks to the 30 people who came along on the coldest night of the year to the Bath Motor Club Annual Quiz evening at The Rose and Crown, Hinton Charterhouse.
There was the usual array of questions both motoring and general knowledge, plenty of pictures for the teams to identify, a page of advertising slogans to put names to, a couple of pages on road signs and a feely bag of objects for the contestants to feel and fumble over to identify the objects inside.
Not for the first time that redoubtable pairing of expert die cast car modeler Glenn Street and MGA Hill Climber Terry Drinkwater came out on top. Mental note, perhaps I might have to give them a handicap next time.
They were hotly pursued by Morris Minor racer Andy Cross and Austin Healey Sprite hill climber Colin Gale in second place. Hard on their heels were quiz ace Dave Fussell and his 2 colleagues in third place.
The winners took home a couple of bottles of plonk and the others some boxes of After Eight Mints to boost their respective calorie intakes over Christmas.
I hope that you all enjoyed it and will come again next year.
The annual Christmas Quiz will be held at The Rose and Crown, Hinton Charterhouse on Monday December 11th. Starting at 8 pm to finish at 10 pm.
I do hope that as many of you as possible can come along as it is always a good fun evening. The quiz is taking shape and I seem to have a good number of picture questions already lined up.
The Rose and Crown will provide food in the form of sausage, chips and rolls at 9 pm, to give everyone a break and recharge the grey cells a bit. The cost of this will be £5.50 per head.
So all you need to do is let me know if you are coming and to tell me if you would like food as it is necessary for me to let The Rose and Crown know our food requirements.
