Having blown up the engine on our mini at Brands Hatch and unfortunately missing the Castle Combe race we had it back in full health for Thruxton last Sunday. It was a busy weekend with running the targa in the dark test at bath and west showground followed by various equipment take downs, not getting home until after midnight on Saturday and up early to get to Thruxton on Sunday.
The result was a 4th in class, 10th overall in the Classic Sports car club turbo tin tops 40 min race .More than the result, I had a really enjoyable battle with the fiat abarth in the picture, swapping places a number of times, made more satisfying by beating him to the line in the end. Just one more race for us this season in October at Oulton Park which I look forward to as one of the best circuits in the country.
